Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

Enjoy Stellas version of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. We took this video about 4weeks ago while Granny was here. Today, Ricky left for a business trip to England. This gives me a little extra time to post something and since the kids went to bed without a problem. We´ll see how the night is!!!!
Stella was in tears when her Daddy left. Not only that she told him to be very careful, no she even made sure the driver knew what a VIP was on board and that he had to take extra good care of our Daddy. After he had left it took her a while to calm down but she managed by telling Lucien to be tough and that he would be back soon and that she won´t ever leave Lucien. It was heartbreaking. I wish I would have gotten the camera, but this was serious business to her. So instead, I was busy hugging and kissing a sad little girl, which was more important than anything else. Travel safe , we miss you already Daddy1!!!

Sweet Kids

These are just some pictures I took the last week. Those two are so sweet with eachother. Stella is such a loving and caring big sister and Lucien always has the cutest smile for her.
And look at them, they know for sure how precious they are together. They make my heart melt like icecream in the sun.

At The Pool

It´s hard to believe, but those pictures were taken not even 3 weeks ago and now I´m sitting here with a sweater, the heater turned on and had already a cup of hot tea. It definetly feels and looks like fall out there. 75% of the family are fighting a mean bug( that´s what Stella calls a cold). Ricky is the one that keeps the family running, at the moment. Thanks to hubby for my naps as soon as he gets home.
Those pics were taken at the swimming pool in Waghäusel. We went twice with Granny and the second time, we went on a cloudy day and had the pool basically all to ourselves. So no little shoeflies would splash Ms Princess and she could safe her Crabby from the water in peace. Too funny, when she got to the deeper part of the water she said: Look, the water is deeper than me!!!!


Lucien enjoyed it aswell (getting a hold of Sissys hair was fun too). He wanted to go in so bad but except for his tickletoes, it was a bit too cold for him.

Family Footprints

Liams 1st day of school

I´m still trying to catch up writing about all our activities we did in August but sick kids and other things keep me away from writing more frequent.
Anyway, Liam, my godchild, started school in August and we were able to go and see him on his very first day of school. He was so excited and now, 3 weeks later, still is. It brought quite a few sweet childhood memories back cause, not only that he lives in the house we used to live when I was little,no I went to the same elementary school from grade 1 through 4. My parents took my 1st day of school pics exactly where we took his, exept mine were taken 26 years ago. CRAZY!!!!. We both look happy in our pics and way to little to carry such big school cones. Schoolcones( in German:Schultüte) are a german tradition for all the kids on their 1st day of school. Either handemade or purchased they are filled with all kinds of goodies, from candy to useful things for school, to little games. It´s a big thing to open them after you accomlished being a schoolkid for the first day. I try to get one of my pics in a digital format and will post it later.

Elisabeth Haley

Sorry Haley but this story is too funny. I really need to post something about it. I hope I don´t get your mama in trouble. ;)
One day, Stella was whiny and not in a good mood all day long. We tried and tried to cheer her up. Nothing seemed to work, except when Granny started talking about old times. Stories about Uncle Rusty and Daddy catching a snake, Uncle Rusty setting the closet on fire. But the story about Aunt Haley was the one, she could relate to the most. Granny told her that Aunt Haley was a whiny Aunt Haley at one point in her life ( a looooong time ago) and that Granny had to send her to her room until she´d come out with a smile and in a good mood. So that day we called her Elisabeth Haley every time she started whining. Next thing you know, is Stella coming up to me saying: Mama, Lucien is being such a Elisabeth Haley, he won´t stop the fussing..... That was hilarious. Now she tells me, when she comes back from kindergarten how many E.H. she had in her class that day.
Oh and we have another secret word in our vocabulary now.We went to Johanneshof with Granny one night. It is a neat gardenrestaurant with a nice playground. Liam, Flynn and Stella had a good time, but there was one little boy bugging them all the time. So Granny and Stella decided to call him a shoefly, which fit perfect. But now everyone that is not behaving properly( in Stellas eyes) is called a shoefly. Luckily nobody over here has a clue what she´s talking about. Might have to work with her before we get to the States to use the words in german over there ;)

Another Barney visit

Stella wanted to introduce Granny to her horse friend Barney. So off we took to see Barney and Petra in Hassloch on Tuesday the 18th. It was also the first time for Lucien to go see the horses and he really seemed to enjoy it. Stella felt a lot more comfortable this time so she told Petra she wanted to go to the woods. She did good for about half the way. Then she said : Mami I wanna go home , my butt hurts. TOO CUTE. She walked for a little and then went back on Barney. I think it was a bit much to go to the woods with her,cause when we got back to the farm, she was familiar with the area and you could tell that she really enjoyed her ride again. Luciens 6 month check up

Thursday the 13th Lucien turned to be 6 months old. My sweet little boy is such a cutie. We went on Tuesday the 18th for his check up to Stellas and Luciens pediatrician Dr Dünkel.
It´s amazing how fast this little man is growing. He is 71 cm long, weighs 10,2 kg( more than 22 lbs) and his head is still way above averrage( 47,5 cm). Nothing to worry, he is just big in general. No wonder my back is killing me every night....
He still nurses once a night, in the morning and afternoon.But we started solids on the first of August. First carrots, then on the 14th we added potatoes,then switched to Pastinake ( don´t know what those are in english) and potatoes, after getting a rash from the carrots and last week we added meat and fruit (pears and apple, as desert) to his lunch. He really enjoys it after all the time being patient and just watching us eat. Oh I almost forgot, some of Stellas raspberries are on the menue as well. Sometimes she shares 1 or 2 with him ;)
2 days ago we started feeding him some cereal at night. And of course, he loves it.
We finally transfered him into his own room and he is doing pretty good with it. But most nights he still ends up in our bed after he eats. We´ll get there.....soon
He loves watching the cars passing by our house and the leaves moving on the tree in front of the house as much as the crowds getting icecream from across the street.
Trouble is on it´s way: He´s already pulling Stellas hair and getting way too interested in her toys, always with the cutest smile on his face.
He is a lot more on his belly, reaching for everything possible, seems like is going to be into everything, shortly.
