Goodbye Granny

Ok this morning we went and brought Granny to the airport in Frankfurt. We all went and it was , as expected, a very tearful goodbye after two weeks full of fun and excitement. We miss you already Granny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stella just does not understand why your home has to be so far away from ours. On our way back from the airport she asked every second minute where you were at, now and when we are going to your house and what the captain of your plane tells you right now and on and on. ...
It was the hardest goodbye for her, ever .We just love you all so much
I will post a lot within the next days. We had a lack of time and some mac difficulties to store our pictures in the past two weeks. But, problem solved and I should have some time maybe tomorrow...

Barney, Baby, Bike

Stella had her first horse riding lesson yesterday. After being shy for a little while in the beginning, she had a blast with her new friend Barney. Petra, a friend of mine and the owner of Barney, did a great job and turned Stella` s concerns into a ton of fun. She taught her how to keep her balance, slide down of his behind, sit backwards........ Stella loved it and on the way back home in the car she asked if she could also have her own Barney.I said we`ll see what Daddy says and she replied : Oh, he just needs to give us some money :)
Here are some pics of her and her new friend. Thank you very much to Petra, you did a fantastic job.

Besides going horse riding with Barney, our most important topic of the day is :when will Granny finally be here( with the worms( two plastic worms, the blue one and the green one) to play with pink and orange)?????????????????
She is counting down the days and every morning when I get her out of bed, she gives me an update on how many more nights she has to go to bed before her Granny gets here. Oh and it`s HER Granny ( sorry other grandkids). When I told her that Granny would want to play with Lucien aswell, she looked at me like I was nuts and said :but Mami this is MY granny!!!!
You all have no idea how excited she is to go to that airport on Saturday to pick Mrs Chris up.

The little man is doing perfectly fine. He is half a year old today, which makes me happy and sad at the same time. My baby is growing up. After he did so well with eating carrots we added potatoes to the menue and yesterday I started feeding him pears. So far, he`s chowing down everything that gets even close to his mouth. No big mess or spitting out food....yet. He still wants to eat once a night, which is fine for me and good to handle, if the rest of the crew stays asleep. Coming Tuesday we will go for his 6 month check up and I will update you with height and weight and all that.

Don`t know if anyone heard the last Rick story. He went last Sunday to Neustadt to do a mountain bike race.Well to make a long story short, he didn`t finish the race. He had a crash with another biker ,which was not too bad, but an ambulance and they checked his knee ( of course, knees again). He was doing ok and wanted to finish the race. The doctor was fine with that and had another call already. While heading out they didn`t pay attention and ran over Ricky`s bike ith their ambulance. He was maaaaadddddd, first cause his bike is ruined and second he couldn`t finish the race. Now, we have to claim it to the insurrance of the red cross. Not a very succsessful biking episode. Oh, and he still needs to go and see an orthopedic.

Remember my half year resolution? Well last sunday, we went to a baptism and Stella and I both wore skirts. So we took a girls picture in girlie clothes:)

That`s all for now. It`s late and I am very tired. I need to get up real early to get the house in shape before Mrs Chris gets here. Not that she cares, but I do.
Good night, I go and get some rest.

Bisquits

See I told Stella, nobody can get close to Maw maw when it comes to cooking Louisiana cuisine. I made my bisquits all brave and I was so proud of myself. Well, Stella honored me with eating half of one :) No I did not take it personal. They definetly taste 100 % better when you sit around Maw maw ´s kitchen table with a big bunch and a coffee made by Paw. Can´t wait til December

Cute Stella Moments

We walked to the bakery down our road 2 days ago and we saw an American flag in somebody elses yard. I asked Stella what it was and we talked about stars and stripes and that the american flag looks different than the german one and so on.... She turned around and said: Mami does that mean Obama lives there? Smart little girl ;)
This morning I asked her what she wanted to eat. She didn´t respond and went to play. After a while she came back and said: Mami, could you be maw maw Poochie today? I told her there´s only one very special Maw maw Poochie. Stella: But Mami, I want Maw maw Poochie bisquits. So I will try and make bisquits tomorrow morning with my german ingredients. Wish me luck!!!!

Maddie Marie

I just got a phonecall from Trey. Katja and Trey became proud parents of little Maddie Marie ( I think this is how they spell the name) at 0:16 a.m this morning. She was 3 weeks early but her and Katja ( and Trey) are doing great (after her water broke she had a c- sectio, cause the baby was laying breech). She is a petite young lady weighing 2980 gramm and is 50cm long. We are so excited and wish little Maddie all the best in her life. Trey and Katja, enjoy these very special first moments to the fullest. They´ll never come back. We love you already little Maddie and can´t wait to meet you.,
