Virtual coffee- sick edition again blahhhh

I cannot believe I have spent the entire long weekend in bed. Sick again! So much for having Lu's party last Sunday, which we had to cancel anyway due to the massive amount of rain we got !

Let me tell you it only rained once all day long. Our yard was flooded! I had adopted Lu's little cough on Thursday but was still feeling good enough to make progress in the party preps.

Saturday morning despite the rain, tornado warnings, we headed out to get Stella a new passport( all in rubber boots. We managed to get this taken care of (yay for traveling to Germany in the summer!)We got home and I started feeling icky and went to bed.

( after you are in bed all day, sleeping at 9 pm is a challenge)

Let's fast forward to today: I am still in bed. Thanks to hubby who is off and taking care of everything, I managed to finish this book which was a pretty good read,

took long naps, listened to the birdies outside of my window,

had some cute girlie moments with sweet pea ( managed to read some more chapters of Tilda to her in German) ,

did our toe nails,

played numerous rounds of guess who, taught Stella how to use the weaving frame, watched some old episodes of cake boss on my i phone.

In return she served me breakfast in bed,

and showered me with get well- drawings and this beautiful token which was extra sweet and made my heart sing.
One of the things on my to-do list 2012 was to get a medical check up since it has been at least 8 years, if not 10 since the last one. Well I guess after being knocked off my feet 2 times this year already, this is moving up on my priority list for sure . Wish I could write about happier things on this lovely Tuesday!!!Still enjoying my coffee ......love Verena

Virtual coffee.... Valentines Edition 2012

Virtual coffee is actually cold coffee since this pics is from yesterday!

Had a lovely Birthday breakfast with my sweet little man, who turned 3 !

Wow my baby is growing up. He sure is one of a kind with lots of love to give. He makes my heart burst every morning when I look into those sweet sleepy eyes and he is giving me a biggest hug and kiss, saying: can we please make my chocolate milk???.

Happy Birthday sweet Lucien!

Will try to get a little interview with Mr 3 sometime this week, but on his actual birthday pirates, Big Bentleys cranes... took over his busy schedule. I will try to reschedule later on today

This weeks coffee will be short and sweet. Matching the valentines theme of the day, I will let you know what else or who else made my heart fly this week:

• My little man helping me prep for our garage sale! He sanitized this vanity to death by using the entire spray bottle ( sad note: it did not even sell ;(, but Lu had fun )

• we had our garage sale last Saturday and despite the freezing cold temperature, even here in Louisiana, it was fun. We made a little extra cash and Cathy and I got to chat away for hours, how often does that happen?!
  

Thanks for staying with me in the wind and cold!!!

• my girlie has her first wiggle tooth and the new one is already peaking out. The pic does not do it justice. It looks freaky. She is growing up, too! sigh, still a happy sigh!
  

• Soaking up some sun after the cold

• making valentines with the kiddos. We don't celebrate valentines big cause we do believe that you should treat every day and everyone just like you do on valentines anyway, but the kids loved to make valentines for their classmates

• Receiving a letter from the sweetest godchild one can have!I miss you so much, my sweet Liam!

• Little fingers dipped in chocolate icing make me smile, he comes after me, at least with that ;)( looks are all daddy, just in case you have not noticed)

• finding a note in my bathroom while trying to hide tired eyes with some heavy duty make-up, makes it all worth it

This note is special because the mentioned two games were played before 7 am on Sunday morning before my feet ever hit the floor! Yay for early risers!!!

A big fat box from Germany arrived exactly on Luciens birthday

It was not only filled with goodies for the birthday boy, but also with something this mama cannot part with.
I finally have my calendar 2012. I have this calendar every year for the last 15 years for sure. And not having it the first month of 2012 made me realize how much we grew together over the years. Sweet Omi stuck it in Luciens package for me. 1000 Kuesse und DANKE

So you see, busy but absolutely lovely week! and much more to come: I am off to Luciens preschool valentines party, prepping snacks for both kids classes for Thursday( 50 to be exact),attending a Mardi Gras parade,prepping for Luciens big bike race party this coming Sunday! This mama has a lot to put down in this brand spanking new calendar!

Good morning and hello to a new and better week! After bringing Lu to school,

cleaning the house a bit and some errands, it's time to fetch me another one of those, sit down and write some for the bloggosphere!

I am actually having my third cup already! Don't get me wrong, I love coffee, but 3 cups by 10 am the morning is usually not me. But I have a pretty good and exciting excuse. I had set my alarm for 2 am this morning to call the University I graduated from back in Germany( 7 hours ahead of us) to order sealed envelopes with all my transcripts to officially apply for my Pharmacy license here in the States.Yes, I am just a wheeee bit excited and nervous at the same time. It will be a hard process with lots of studying and testing AGAIN! They don't make it easy at all and just reading the description on how to even apply to start the process made me sick and Ricky had to read over it twice for me to make sure I understood everything correctly.Due to the fact that I was not able to find any information ,of someone who was in my shoes and did the same thing, I thought I might start writing down the timeline of things that needed to be done here on my blog. It might help somebody else one day!
So DAY 1: call Marburg to get transcripts (4 envelopes, 3 sealed and signed, one open for the official translation , which needs to be taken care of next), sign up for the 4 hours Toefl test( English for foreigners) LOvely
Of course after this early start( I could not go back to sleep right away either) I am tired!

And before I am going back to those lovely pages with all those shortcuts for words that don't even make sense in their long version( to me), I stopped on my way home to breathe in some crisp air and take those pics of a very peaceful place down the road.

The weather has been crazy those past couple days. We went from this

and then back to this within 48 hours.

We are making the best out of it anyway! Playing inside is just as much fun as playing outside!

Plus there is just a wee bit of valentines crafting going on as well.

Wet Wednesday

We are better! Thanks for all the well wishes! Being cooped up was not fun! Not for Lu and not for me! He was feeling better first and wanted to go outside badly! It poured this week and it rained some more.

We only had a little chance to blast off some energy. And we made every minute worth it!

After that he was happy again!
Happy and soaked from head to toe! Ready for a hot bath!

A little bit of shaving cream and here we go: Happy end!

Christmas Edition!


Sorry for the delay on the second part of our photo shoot, the Christmas edition. While my little man is doing 100 times better and is back to singing and squealing at full force, this mama is still suffering.... my headache turned into a full fletched migraine and I have trouble to even imagine the drive to the big city to sit in carpool for 2 hours round trip in just a little while. So this post will contain a lot of pictures but only these few words. Hope you still enjoy! I will be back to my normal, happy self maybe by tomorrow!
